Australian Government's new measures restricting the amount of liquids, aerosols and gels that can be taken through the screening point for international flights to and from Australia.
The Government's measures take effect from 12.01am, 31 March 2007. The new measures require that liquids, aerosols and gels only be allowed through the international screening point if they are in containers no more than 100ml, fit comfortably in a one litre transparent plastic resealable bag, and passengers are only allowed one of these bags each. The new measures only apply to carry-on baggage. There are no new restrictions to items packed in the passenger's check-in baggage.
The measures have been introduced in Australia in response to the recent international threat posed by liquid explosives.
